The Legend of Zelda Shoes

I hand-painted these shoes for one of my friends using acrylic paint. They were orginally plain white Bobs brand canvas shoes. My friend loves the Legend of Zelda and when I asked her what she’d like on her shoes, she said, “I don’t know….but it would be cool to have Link and Zelda on the front.”

I had to take some time to research the series. I played the Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild to give me inspiration. To the right is my initial planning sketch. I based my character designs off the Breath of the Wild game, but I put Link in his outfit from the original Zelda games to tie in the original series.

I thought it would be fun to have a night and day effect so she could have two different colored shoes, but I wanted to have them match somehow. I decided to paint the Tri Force logo on the back of both shoes.
