This is a complete branding project for an imaginary company called Monster Bakery. (Named after some pretty delicious monster cookies I bake on occasion.) I created a logo for the company, a backstory, and designed all the packaging for the product. There is also a CGI rendering of a store popup display and a small-scale model of a trade show booth section. I was branded under an umbrella corporation who specialized in packaged foods.
To the right is the initial sketch of what I wanted the packaging to look like. My biggest inspiration was the idea to package the cookies inside the monsters’ mouths.

Above is my chosen color palette. I wanted something fun and bright to make the packaging really stand out.
Fonts used:
(ank)* : monster logo
Abegnale: headings
American Typewriter: all body copy
The fonts for Monster Bakery needed to have weight and texture. (These are monsters we’re talking about, after all!) Ank is a great font for adding grunge without looking violent. The font is only available in lower case, which makes it appear more friendly and less aggressive. Abegnale and American Typewriter are an unusual combination, but they add contrast between headings and body copy.
Here is the first look at the packaging for the company’s flagship Monster Cookies. Packaging is complete with nutrition label, backstory and barcode.

Below is the layout packaging for the other flavors and monsters from left to right: Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Chip and Sugar Cookie.

Here are the sketches for the popup display.

This is the final product rendered in Maya.

Here is the mini replica of the trade show booth under the parent company, Atlas. The Monster Bakery trade show booth includes free cookie samples, product packaging and a milk bar to give customers a way to wash down those delicious cookies.
